WINTER LIGHTING
Each holiday season, thousands of LED lights adorn the boulevard trees along Burnsville Parkway, Nicollet Avenue, Travelers Trails, and Nicollet Commons Park. Over 300 individuals and businesses contribute to the annual event to make it possible.
On Thanksgiving eve, hundreds of Burnsville residents gather in Nicollet Commons Park for music, free cookies and hot cocoa, a chance to see Santa and Mrs. Claus, and to watch the "flipping of the switch" that illuminates the city of the winter season.
PAVERS
Paving bricks, engraved with a special message, are available for placement in Nicollet Commons Park. There are three sizes of pavers to choose from.
SNOWFLAKES
When you sponsor a snowflake, you will receive a triangular banner opposite the snowflake on the same lamppost. The triangular banner is under the Burnsville banner on the post and contains the printed name of the donor. While snowflakes go up and down with the season, the triangular banner stays up all year.
PHILANTHROPIC FUNDS
Donor-Advised: a donor-advised fund is a charitable way of giving that gives an immediate tax benefit while retaining control over directing the funds to specific projects or causes.
Memorial Funds: for some, honoring a relative who has passed by creating a fund in their name helps in the process of coping with great loss.
BENCHES
Architectural benches make wonderful gifts for memorials, birthdays, anniversaries, or simply to honor someone special. Benches are permanent and placed throughout the city of Burnsville (public space). Each bench includes a plaque.
